Change video card software?

When I viewed my properties of my computer the video card is Nividia Geforce 5500. So I can change the software to 7800?

Another Question: can a computer work without video card?|||no if you change the software of your card it might not work,

ya a computer can run without a card by the help of onboard graphix.|||? 1 no

? 2 no|||Video cards are hardware. Your computer has a Geforce 5500 that is the model of the card in your computer. 7800 is a different type of video card so changing the software will have no effect on the hardware.

Computers do not work without a video card.|||Simply put no. The cards are like car models. The 5500 is an older model, the 7800 card is more current. The software, I.E. drivers and control panel will not be compatable between the two. For your second question. Yes your computer will work, but obviously you will not be able to see what's happening...Unless you have some sort of remote desktop setup.|||If you buy a Geforce 7800 Video Card. A computer can run without a PCI or AGP video card. It has to be integrated into the motherboard. (Called On-board video) It'll probably look like the same adaptor that you plug your monitor into now. It would be up by where the USB and mouse and LAN cable plug in.|||The drivers for those 2 cards are incompatable. If you want to increase the performance of your currant card download the latest display drivers for the 5500 from the Nvidia website. There is also free overclocking software for graphics cards but using them will void any warranty (if your card still has one)

If your PC has an onboard graphics chip then you do not need a graphics card.|||If you'r are gone mad try out that and a computer without a Graphics card it is waste .
