.net 2.0 framework? (ati video card software issues)?

so um, i just got this PC from my father in law, it is an older system, currently running XP, with sp3 installed. i put a ati radeon HD 2600 video card in it, or had him, anyway, coming home, it let me install the driver and it seems to be working ok so far, but it would not install the Catlyst Control Center that comes as a suite from amd/ati , iits saying i need to install or update the .net framework 2.0. i tried to do a lil research but it seems u need to be an IT pro to mess with it, i dont think i need the CCC, but i wld like it as its crazy custimizable. this ppc is to be my #2, my main PC is newer and a better setup, but the exact same video card so i have some exp in the CCC, so ging w/o isnt something i wanna do. anyway, what is the .net 2.0 and how do i go about fixing it.|||You can obtain the framework from my link. There have been some security fixes since it was released, so as soon as you install it, use Windows Update to install any updates.
