Problems with home theater, video cards.we bought a 50" panasonic viera tv to use and our monitor?

we watch tv through our computer. we bought the ati radeon 5670 after doing some research. we plugged a dvi to hdmi cable inbetween them and nothing happened. we installed the video card software using our old video card and also tried a hdmi to hdmi cable and nothing works.

my only idea is our new video card doesn't work or there is some problem that i don't understand like the video card resolution is too much for the tv (which is 720P)|||Sounds to me like your computer originally has integrated graphics, but you did not disable it. While your onboard graphics is active, your computer will NOT be able to recognize the new HD5670 video card.

You need to boot into BIOS and disable your onboard integrated graphics there. Only then will your HD5670 become active and you can use it.|||I'm surprised that a TV that big is only 720p. Normally they are 1080p. The video card and TV should communicate and pick a resolution for you, but if not, be sure the video is set to 1366x720 for a 720p TV. If the video card does not support 1366x720, you will have to replace it or the TV.
